The Kingston Whig Standard has a look at the Roots of Empathy program in their local school districts:

“The program is somewhat of an anti-bullying program and it’s all about accepting others for their differences and similarities,” Angela Warren, the kindergarten class Roots of Empathy facilitator, said. “From the beginning of the year, [the students] just learn to love somebody. Their connection with [the baby] is absolutely amazing. It makes them more confident, gives them something to look forward to, because some kids may not have that in their lives.”
